Service: Community Network Team (Weekend Support Workers)

Role: Support Worker

Hours of Work: Full and Part time positions available (must be able to work flexibly across 7 days a week)

Weekend contracts available with the outlook of potential overtime throughout the week

Rate of Pay: £7.80 rising to £8.00 after probation with future rises to £8.15 + depending on experience, qualifications and delivery of the organisational values

Required experience:

  • Support Environment: 1 year

  • NVQ Level 2 Health & Social Care
  • Full UK Driving Licence

WCL Support Worker Brief: 

Provide professional, high quality support people within their own home and other environments in a way which maximised their choice and independence; allowing them to have a high quality of life and make their own decisions while supporting and living out our Values within your role.

You will be required to deliver a person centred support to meet the care needs which included but are not limited to personal, practical, social and domestic support which is agreed within their individual plan while exemplifying best practice at all times. Support should promote the individual’s health and well-being and support them to be active members within their living environment and their local community.

The work will involve developing professional working relationships with families, colleagues, from WCL and other agencies. You will be responsible for completing relevant documentation for the people being supported compliance with guidance, statutory regulation and WCL policies and procedures.

Service Brief:

he Community Network Team support children, young people and older adults who have learning and/or physical disability and/or associated mental health needs and/or dementia, but wish to live their lives with the greatest self-sufficiency possible and to take their place as active citizens in the community.

Services may be delivered in the person’s own home, out and about in the community or in educational and work settings. They could be 24 hours a day support or less intense periods of activity based or short breaks work.

A FULL driving licence is required for this role.

Because of this flexibility of the support we provide, it is ideal for people who do not neatly fit into boxes and labels and whose needs are complex or particular to them.

All packages of support are based on person centred planning, which means they are tailored to the bespoke needs of the individual. Working towards positive outcomes for those individuals is the passion of the service at Warrington Community Living, and the colleagues involved in its delivery are trained to deliver a wide range of support, including where required intimate and personal care, supporting behaviour that can be challenging, developing independence and confidence, supporting positive relationships and total communication.
