Job Role:  Support Worker (Physical & Multiple Learning Disabilities)

Hours of Work:   Part time or full time available up to 39 hours - days, weekends on rotation

Rate of pay: £7.83 rising to £8.00 after probation with future rises to £8.15 + depending on experience, qualifications and delivery of the organisational values

WCL Support Worker Brief: 

Provide professional, high quality support people within their own home and other environments in a way which maximised their choice and independence; allowing them to have a high quality of life and make their own decisions while supporting and living out our Values within your role.

 You will be required to deliver a person centred support to meet the care needs which included but are not limited to personal, practical, social and domestic support which is agreed within their individual plan while exemplifying best practice at all times. Support should promote the individual’s health and well-being and support them to be active members within their living environment and their local community.

The work will involve developing professional working relationships with families, colleagues, from WCL and other agencies. You will be responsible for completing relevant documentation for the people being supported compliance with guidance, statutory regulation and WCL policies and procedures.

Service Brief:

Lucklaw (WA5 3AN) is a small Residential home for up to four people with learning and physical disabilities who may also be classed as having PMLD. These specially adapted bungalow offers a homely environment with garden space, that gives the people that live there a really personal experience of support and adult life in their own home, but in the social company of living with a small group of other people.

No two days are the same, as no two of our residents are either. All packages of support are based on person centred planning, which means they are tailored to the bespoke needs of the individuals. Working towards positive outcomes for these individuals - however large or small those might be - is the passion of the service, and the colleagues who work there, who are trained to deliver a wide range of support. Support may include intimate and personal care, supporting behaviour that can be challenging, developing independence and confidence supporting positive relationships and total communication.
