Warrington Community Living took over the responsibility of the care provision at Ryfields in Oct 2015. The first CQC inspection following this showed some room for improvement. Warrington Community Living recognised and agreed with this and has been working hard at continuous improvement since then. In the recent inspection by CQC all the hard work and dedication was recognised with CQC rating us at Good in all areas.
This is what the inspectors said about the Care at Ryfields
The management team and staff working within the service were passionate about their roles and responsibilities and demonstrated a commitment to the ongoing development of the service provided at Ryfields.
People using the service confirmed they were treated with dignity and respect, encouraged to maintain their independence and to exercise choice and control over their lives
People spoken with confirmed the service they received was caring...comments received from people using the service included:
"I am treated with dignity and respect";
"Staff are lovely";
"Staff are kind and caring I must say that"
"Staff help me to stay independent as much as I can".
The inspector said that the people we spoke to confirmed that the staff responsible for the delivery of personal care and support were kind and considerate, understood their needs, routines and preferences and were generally responsive and attentive.
Staff spoken with demonstrated a commitment to the wellbeing of the people they cared for and the value base of social care such as promoting and supporting dignity, citizenship, independence and safety; respecting and acknowledging individual's personal belief and identity.
People spoken with told us that the service was responsive. For example, comments received from three people using the service included: "I choose what I want. An
example of this is my care plan. It was changed at my request. I wanted to go to bed earlier. It was sorted"; "I know how to complain. I have done in the past and it has been sorted" and "I have told them [the staff] what I want and they work around me.
Following the inspection the Manager of the Service, Sarah Battersby, said she was really proud of what the team had acheived in such a short space of time and that the improvement in the quality of care was down to the care, hard work, dedication and commitment of the team of Support Workers and their supervisors.
