Local school step forward to help our residents and colleagues

Local High School Cardinal Newman donated fifty four spillage masks to our homes in Penketh. The team from the school included teachers, house keepers and the Head Teacher.

Helen Hunt (Teacher at the school) said “When I heard about the issues around PPE in care homes in general I wanted to see if we could help in anyway. I’d seen other schools talking about making masks so I asked would this be useful to them and when they told me it would be I rallied around and got the support from the team.”

The home will use these as additional protection for residents and colleagues, to help them be and feel more protected. Having these masks will also help minimise the number of times we need to change our masks and help us prolong the time our supplies last.

The manager of the home said “This is great it is uplifting to know that the community are supporting us through these difficult times and I want to express my thanks to all involved”

The staff at the school are now going away to help produce more so we have a good supply,

WCL would like to express our gratitude to the team from Cardinal Newman: Helen Hunt, Lou Ellison, Laurence Sherrington, Dave Hall and Jo Langstaff
