Following an inspection by the Care Quality Commission on the 18th August 2016 Heathside have received their report awarding them ‘Good’ in every area resulting in an overall ‘good’ rating.
People who live at Heathside told the CQC that:
“I feel safe here because there are always people around”
“I have seen a doctor; chiropodist and optician whilst here and if people are not well the staff are quick to respond”
“The staff are great. I find them easy to get on with”
“The standard of care in my opinion is very good and we are always made to feel welcome” “Every member of staff is friendly and helpful”
“My privacy and dignity has always been respected in the few months that I've lived here” “All the staff try their hardest to support me the best they can”
Our colleagues who work at Heathside told the CQC that:
“I think our manager does an amazing job”
“The manager is a lovely person” and "She [the registered manager] is approachable and supportive"
The CQC said about Sarah Gardner Registered Manager:
“During the inspection the registered manager continuously demonstrated her in-depth knowledge of each person living at Heathside and was positive about her staff team. Any question we asked was responded to in detail. For example, during our tour of Heathside, the registered manager stopped on many occasions to speak with people using the service and staff and provided reassurance when it was necessary”
Following receipt of the report Sarah Gardner said:
I am really pleased about the good practice that was acknowledged at Heathside and that the progress we have made in delivering a person centred service had been recognised. The whole team are delighted with the report.
