The guidance for visiting in Care Homes will be changing; although we have not had full details at this time.
The information we have been provided thus far is visiting in Care Homes will be reintroduced, The People we Support will be able to receive one consistent visitor, and the visits will include completion of a Health Questionnaire, an LFD test that provides COVID 19 test results in 30 minutes and full PPE, personal protective equipment. It is also expected that individual risk assessments will continue to be applied and therefore visiting will not be implemented via a blanket approach.
During the visit physical contact in the form of hand-holding will be supported. We will also continue to provide window visits, screen visits and video calls for friends and families who are not the allocated individual for contact visits.
The new approach is due to come into place on the 8th March, to carry out the risk measures required visits will be by appointment only. The services will contact families individually to discuss arrangements and individual risk assessments for your visits.
We thank you for your support during this very difficult time and understand the distress these restrictions may cause however; we must continue to be cautious to protect the people we support.
