Support Worker - Supported Living & Outreach - Ryfields Village

Job role:  2 x Support Workers

Location: Orford area of Warrington 

Hours per week:  1 x 32 & 1 x 26 plus 8 hour sleep-in's - 1 or 2 depending on your contracted hours 

Salary: £8.91 per hour

WCL are looking for a colleague to join a team for a very special individual with learning disabilities who lives in her own home in the Orford area of Warrington. The person you will be supporting requires 24-hour support, including sleep-ins. 

You will be helping her to look after her own home and support her to enjoy an active social life.

You may have paid or unpaid experience of working with younger or older people with a disability which would be useful, but most importantly you will want to make a difference in someone’s life.

Full training is available, but we cannot teach you our values - you will already have those.

Service Brief:

The Community Network Team support older adults who have a learning and/or physical disability and/or associated mental health needs and/or dementia, but wish to live their lives with the greatest self-sufficiency possible and to take their place as active citizens in the community.

Services may be delivered in the person’s own home, out and about in the community or in educational and work settings. They could be 24 hours a day support or less intense periods of activity based or short breaks work.

WCL Support Worker Brief:

Provide professional, high quality support to people within their own home and other environments in a way which maximises their choice and independence; allowing them to have a high quality of life and make their own decisions while supporting and living out our Values within your role.

You will be required to deliver person centred support to meet the care needs, which includes but is not limited to personal, practical, social and domestic support, which is agreed within an individual plan while exemplifying best practice at all times. Support should promote the individual’s health and well-being and support them to be active members within their living environment and their local community.

The work will involve developing professional working relationships with families, colleagues, from WCL and other agencies. You will be responsible for completing relevant documentation for the people being supported compliance with guidance, statutory regulation and WCL policies and procedures.

To ensure high quality service all our support workers must have or be committed to working toward a level 2 qualification in Health and Social Care, we will invest in you and all we ask in return is your commitment to this for your own development and the development of our services.
